After attending a very informative seminar on the importance of email marketing and social media marketing, Nevada Website Design staff walked away with very valuable information which will be put to use to improve the firm's clients' bottom line.
The seminar, which promises to become a monthly local event in Las Vegas, was hosted by Ron Cates, Email Marketing & Social Media Marketing expert from well-known service provider, Constant Contact.
The two back-to-back two-hour mini seminars were packed with non-stop information on the features and benefits that email marketing and social media marketing have for local business owners.
Among topics covered: how to effectively and properly use email marketing and social media marketing to boost interest, call to action, and ROI for local businesses. Ron explained how emails can be easily and properly constructed and how social media marketing can be used to radically boost the effectiveness of email marketing.
Mr. Cates also conveyed statistics showing how we depend on email, mobile devices and social networking to communicate with each other, and to find products and services. He also noted the importance of these media types have on improving customer base and popularity for local businesses. Additionally, how tracking of email openings, click-through, bounce rates, and title and content testing can be used to determine the effectiveness of email campaigns.
It was interesting to see and hear how email marketing has evolved over the years, comparing text emails of only a few years ago and HTML-based emails used today have affected the outcome in building awareness and interest to businesses of all types.
There were quite a few interesting questions from the audience, such as how to create content for email marketing. How often to send emails, what to include in emails, etc. Ron suggested emails should not be used to constantly promote products or services, but to inform readers with product or service tips and other interesting and useful information. Emails should be short and to the point, and should be "continued" on the business website with a properly titled link. Emails can also be used to enhance call to action.
Social Media links to Facebook, Twitter, and other networks should be included at the top of the email to entice readers to share the email with others. This can increase the client base for the particular business.
Likewise, a "Tell a Friend" link should be visible somewhere above the main content of the email. as this too, can increase readership and bring more traffic to the website.
