Sometimes we can get so complicated with our article topics that it stops us dead in our tracks, and we find it hard to submit articles on a steady basis. We get overwhelmed at the thought of writing an article, or we feel like we've covered every single topic that we possibly can.
It is tempting to feel like you need to keep on writing for a more and more advanced audience, but actually that's not the case. Probably the largest portion of your readers will be in the beginning stages, so don't feel like you've already covered "beginner territory" if you've written a few articles for that crowd. You could write beginner articles your entire article marketing career and never run out of topics!
It's great to write articles for all levels of readers, but if you're feeling creatively dry, then a great article marketing tip is to try focusing on writing a very basic article for beginners. It will refresh your thinking and bring out your best teaching skills.
Here is your assignment for this week:
Write an article that solves a very basic problem. It can be a problem that is so very simple that you don't think it even deserves to have an article written about it, but resist that attitude. The purpose of the article that you're about to write is to take something very small and write a solution for it.
Here are some ideas for you:
=> A dog trainer notices that his clients do not know how to do the very simplest of activities with their dogs--taking them for a walk. He devotes an article or even several articles to all sorts of tips and instructions for walking your dog in the correct manner.
=> A baker notices that her customers rave about her frosting for her cupcakes, saying that they can never get it to turn out so light and fluffy, sweet but not too sweet. She decides to write an article giving a few baking tips for making a really delicious frosting.
=> A cardiologist notices that his patients that keep a journal of their weight, blood pressure, and other basic vitals on a daily basis are more likely to stay out of the hospital and live longer. He writes an article about the importance of daily tracking of important medical information and the benefits.
The one thing that unites each of these scenarios is that the person writing the article notices something that his target audience needs. It is a simple thing, elementary instruction that some might think too basic to write about, but in tackling these very small topics, the writer can make a big impact with his or her readers.
If you're not sure if you should write about something so elementary, I challenge you to test it out. Write an article that addresses a very simple question or problem that you've noticed among your clientele, and present a very simple solution.
