What's on your Dad's special Christmas wish list? Most men have a list of things they'd like to be given for Christmas. Here are 7 things that might be on your Dad's Christmas present list:
The first on my list is a day out with his friends to a car or gadget exhibition. He could see the latest cars or the newest boy's toy's on the market. Or how about a trip to a race track where he could drive a supercar around the circuit? There are lots of track days around the country - there's probably one not too far from you.
The second thingI'd add to my list for men would be a fishing trip or bushcraft training course. Maybe his dream is to visit the wilds of Canada or Australia, or to try his hand at deep sea fishing. Tips from a professional fishing guide to help him land the Big One are fantastic Christmas presents for men.
Perhaps your Dad thinks about new fishing gear or additions to his camping equipment. He can hear the call of the wild and there may be things he would like that would make the most of his free time outdoors.
If you're on a budget, how about a new tent, gas stove or lantern. Is his sleeping bag in need of replacement? Or how about a new sleeping mat to make his nights camping more comfortable?
Is Dad a golf nut? What about a trip to Spain, especially mid winter? What a way to escape the cold. If a trip would be too expensive, why not think about smaller items that golfers need.
A new putter, personalised golf balls, tees, or a new golf bag may be just the things to make Dad a happy golfer. Why not book him a session with the local golf pro, if you've heard Dad complaining about his terrible slice...
One celebrity dad was given his first ever car, completely restored, given to him by a family that loved him very much. He might have been thinking of adding an accessory to his secret Christmas list and got more than he bargained for.
On a more realistic note, why not get the local handyman to come around and do all those little jobs that are sitting there waiting for him to finish? Just think how grateful Dad would be if someone else repaired that leaking tap, or creaky bedroom door.
Getting rid of all those little tasks would free up some extra time for him to spend with the family or maybe he could read that book he's had lying around for months!
What about a season ticket to see his favourite team. This would be high on many Dad's list. Just think how happy he'd be supporting his club at all the home games from a really good seat in the stadium.
Many Dads would love to spend more time with their families, spending time watching the kids play for their school team, taking a child to dance class or a night out with mum.
In many families fathers are the main financial support and it's important for him to know he's appreciated and loved. So why not give him a hug or promise to do one of those things on his "to do" list.
We both know that there are millions of things that might only be relevant to your Dad. What do you think would make a great Christmas Present for Dad?
I know of one dad who loved a keyring he was given so much, that had a picture of his grandchildren encased in plastic. He used that keyring for years and only changed it once the pictures needed replacing because they were so out of date. Most Dads would treasure a gift hand made by their son or daughter.
So there you have it, list of ideas that might just be on your Dad's Secret Christmas Wish list.
