MJ Management Solutions, Inc.'s Leadership Power Groups are designed to teach business owners how to play by the new rules, and run a successful business beyond 2010, without sacrificing passion and values. The 10-month workshop and consulting series, sponsored by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), starts in September 2010.

How Leadership Power Groups Work
#1 - Leadership Power Groups are created when business owners come together to learn, share knowledge and best practices, and move together toward business success.
Potential members are interviewed and selection for participation is based on business experience, size and readiness for a values-based, profit-driven working group. Competitive businesses are never selected for the same group, so you can be assured of a safe and confidential environment in which to discuss your immediate and long term issues.
There are always fewer than 15 business owners in each session so your issues are always heard.
The program is based on a scheduled monthly three-hour group experience. The initial commitment for each leader is for a 10-month series. Ideally, each leader will enroll one or two key employees to attend the entire program and participate fully in each session - the enrollment fee covers ALL of the participants from the same business.Every session offers:
- A presentation by the area's leading knowledge experts on a topic of vital importance to your business, like sales, profitability, marketing, technology and more. Each of these presentations will be video taped so participants can review the content over and over again to gain the most solid integration of the information.
- An immediate discussion to develop an action plan and measurements for taking your business to the next level in that area, based on your specific values and "best practices" developed over time.
- The opportunity for several members of the group to present specific and real business issues they need help with right away.
- Take away practical information you can start to use at your business the next day.
#2 - Because we know you have individual issues that are best considered outside of a group setting, membership also includes a one-hour, face-to-face or telephone consulting session following each month's workshop to address your specific situation with one of our knowledge experts.
#3 - Stay in touch with knowledge experts and other group members via an online community of ever-growing resources and expertise.
The sessions are limited to only 12, hand-selected businesses. Starting Sept. 8, 2010, leaders from each of these organizations will participate in a three-hour monthly session for 10 months. Each in-depth session shared with the 12 business teams will cover a leading-edge business topic, such as leadership, leveraging talent and social capital, social media strategy, and financing and forecasting. The sessions are individualized and include one-on-one, follow-up consulting with industry experts.
The 10 sessions will be held on the second Wednesday of each month, from 4 to 7 pm., at the Maricopa Community College Small Business Development Center, 2400 Central Avenue, Suite 104, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
