Types of Oral Presentations - Business - Presentation

There are many different types of oral presentations. These are presentations that allow a person to present information to audience by verbal communication. The goal or objective of some of these presentations is to provide basic information, present evidence, or to persuade and convince. Using handouts, audio clips, and PowerPoint slides can make this type of presentation more effective.

Oral presentations are normally used when the presenter will need to meet with a group to inform or explain an issue. This format gives the participants a chance to ask questions and even disagree with the speaker about a certain point.

One type of oral presentation is the academic presentation. This type of presentation includes students who have been assigned a certain topic by a teacher. To accomplish this task, the student will have to research a specific topic. After the research is complete, the student will have to present the information that has been collected to the class. If the student has been assigned a persuasive speech, they will have the task of selecting a specific side of the argument and presenting the information from that vantage point. The goal of this presentation is to talk to the entire class about the side that they chose. The student must build their case based on the facts that they have gathered. Sometimes the students in the class are allowed to ask questions, which means they are given the opportunity to challenge the other students' opinion.

Ministers and others who are allowed to speak on a religious topic normally give religious presentations. It is an oral presentation that is also meant to inform as well as persuade an audience on certain issues that are discussed in the bible.

Political presentations are given made by politicians. These oral presentations can be made before they are elected to office, which means they will have the job of persuading the public in their area to vote for them. After the politician has been elected, they can also continue to give oral presentations to help and assist with getting different types of legislations through as well as update the public about the progress that is going on in a city.

Judicial Presentations are oral presentations that are made by both defense attorneys and prosecutors. The goal for both of these attorney's is to persuade the jury and the judge to provide a verdict that will be in favor of their side.
