Speaker Training - Producing Your Own Speaker Seminar - Business

One of the biggest keys to growing your business is to gain exposure and awareness of both you and your products. Producing your own seminar can be a great way at increasing your client base and in turn your revenue. Seminars allow for a human connection, with an audience of prospects, which you can appeal to, increasing your exposure, and hopefully making some sales at the same time.

Producing your own seminar can be difficult, but with the right planning it doesn't have to be. There are several components involved in planning your own speaker seminar. Some things that need to be thought out are the venue, what to name your seminar, how to format your seminar, and how to get people to attend your seminar.

First and foremost, you should probably think about where you're going to hold your seminar. Questions to ask yourself might be, how many people do I think might attend, have I been to a seminar in the area, where do others hold their seminars locally, will people be flying in to attend my seminar, should I hold it at a hotel, or other space?

You might also want to consider the price it will cost you to rent a space. There are ways to negotiate a low price for the rental of the space, and you definitely don't want to spend an arm and a leg to secure a venue. You could also consider negotiating a deal with a venue, where in exchange for the rental the venue receives a certain percentage of the profits made at your seminar.

Once you have a venue secured, it would be a good idea to structure a timeline for your seminar. You need to take in to consideration how long you should speak before someone needs a bathroom break, what time you will break for lunch, and how long you want your seminar to be. This could depend on how much information you want to share or teach, do you need a few hours, or do you need a whole day to sell your audience?

Coming up with a great title for your seminar is a must. Just like a title of a great book, what you name your seminar must be engaging and capture interest. Also consider making your seminar title relevant to what you will be teaching or selling. You want to make sure your attendees are there for the subject matter and that the seminar is relevant for them. It's better to not mislead people with a catchy title only to have them disappointed that the subject matter was not what they were expecting to learn.

The most important thing when producing your own seminar is getting people to your seminar. The whole point of throwing your own seminar is to gain more exposure.

A marketing plan is a must. Do you want your seminar to be free to draw more people, or do you want to charge for your seminar to in a way pre-qualify your attendees? A great way to promote your seminar is to use social media like facebook to get the word out. You could post an event on facebook, and invite people, or use video marketing to promote your event. Advertising online is also a good way of getting the word out.

Producing your own speaker seminar can have some very great benefits. There are many things to consider when planning your own seminar. It may sound like a hard complicated task, but with a well thought out plan you can throw a well marketed and successful seminar.
